Tales from Beneath the Car

It was years in planing when it came to fruition on that dark, April evening. It started with the soft sound of footsteps on pavement growing closer and closer to the car door, unbenownst to their owner what lurked beneath the family car. More footsteps hurried along the pavement. These were the small and hurried steps of children, followed by more steady steps of an adult. The suburban family entered the car without suspecting the truth beneath their feet.

On the way to dinner is when it happened. It was always destined to happen at some moment in time when all possibilities ceased to be real save for the very one that played out at that very second.
